2017: A Year in Review

As we prepare for what 2018 will bring, we’re excited to look back on all that happened in 2017.

Liaison began the year with the relaunch of ExploreHealthCareers.org in February. The site, which was previously managed by ADEA, is one of Google’s most searched sites for those trying to find a career in health care. Richard W. Valachovic, D.M.D, M.P.H., ADEA president and CEO, said, “We knew that the combination of Liaison’s technical talent and the personal commitment of its CEO to the health professions made them the clear choice for bringing this health care gateway into the future.”

In addition to launching new Centralized Application Services (CASTM), including GradCASTM, BusinessCASTM, EngineeringCASTM, PostBaCASTM, ArchCASTM and BioMedCASTM, our family of solutions grew with the addition of SlideRoom, the company best known for its seamless integration of multimedia components into admissions review workflows. “Combining our technologies will create a powerful product suite able to help institutions more efficiently make admissions decisions,” said Chris Jagers, CEO of SlideRoom. We continued this exciting expansion with Time2Track, the leading platform for tracking and managing clinical training. These products have expanded our knowledge and strengthened Liaison’s product offerings in the admissions and health professions markets.

We also began many far-reaching partnerships this year. The Common Application partnered with us to release landmark solutions for today’s evolving student population. “We are excited to be working with Liaison on these initiatives,” shared Jenny Rickard, president and CEO of The Common Application, “which will support access both by expanding the student population we serve and by providing our member colleges and universities with the data insights they need to better understand overall enrollment patterns and achieve their goals.” We reached a great milestone with the California State University (CSU), successfully completing of our first admissions cycle as partners. The cycle included a giveaway to motivate students to apply early. The winner will be announced in a few weeks.

We wrapped up the year with our Interim CAS Summit. In 2018, we look forward to working closely with our featured speaker, Dr. Nancy Zimpher, who served as the 12th chancellor of The State University of New York, the nation’s largest comprehensive system of public higher education, from 2009 to 2017. Prior to SUNY, she served as president of the University of Cincinnati, as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and executive dean of the Professional Colleges and dean of the College of Education at The Ohio State University. She is a senior fellow at the Rockefeller Institute of Government and chancellor emeritus of The State University of New York.

From all of us at Liaison, we wish you a happy New Year! Your work supports passionate applicants who are striving to make a difference for their families, communities and the world around them, and we’re excited that you’ve partnered with us to meet your goals.
