IU Chooses Liaison’s Centralized Application Service (CAS™) as Admissions Platform for Graduate and Professional School Applications

WATERTOWN, Mass. (January 29, 2018) — Indiana University will partner with Liaison International, the leading provider of higher education admissions and enrollment marketing solutions, to implement Liaison’s UniCAS™ as the university’s admissions platform for graduate and professional school applications. In choosing UniCAS, IU will join the over 7,000 programs on more than 800 campuses that streamline admissions and offer better applicant experiences with Liaison’s Centralized Application Services (CASs™). IU’s rollout of UniCAS will begin in Fall 2019.

UniCAS will bring greater simplicity and efficiency to IU’s application processes, reducing administrative costs and creating a streamlined process for students applying to colleges and campuses across the university. In providing a centralized place for students of all academic interests to apply to IU, UniCAS will also provide the university valuable analytics tools to understand trends in enrollment and better tailor application processes to the needs of its students.

“IU is committed to excellence in all aspects of the education we provide, which is why we are so excited to implement Liaison’s UniCAS as our enrollment platform,” said James C. Wimbush, vice president of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs, dean of The University Graduate School and Johnson Chair for Diversity and Leadership. “UniCAS will not only cut down on administrative costs and improve efficiency, but it will also foster a transparent and simple application process for all who look to call IU home.”

Central to the implementation of UniCAS will be its ability to unify application processes from across IU’s campuses. Rather than separate portals for each campus, UniCAS will provide students the ability to apply to multiple programs through one comprehensive application process. IU’s seven campuses and two regional centers will all use this process, making it easier for The University Graduate School and academic programs to collaborate on implementing enrollment practices. The insights gleaned from UniCAS will also provide academic programs and The University Graduate School valuable data to help IU further its admission and enrollment of students.

As a result, adopting UniCAS will significantly streamline the application process for prospective IU students. Applicants will be able to access all of their applications on one standardized platform, rather than managing multiple applications across different portals. This will be of particular value for graduate students applying to IU, as UniCAS will centralize the university’s dozens of graduate programs under one easily accessible platform.

“Liaison is proud of the work that we’ve done over the last two decades to support the nation’s top colleges and universities as they work towards crucial recruitment and admissions goals,” said George Haddad, founder and CEO of Liaison. “When IU decided to embrace our products and services, they assumed a position at the technological forefront of the higher education industry. Everyone involved in the university’s application process from this point on will benefit significantly from this partnership.”
