PostbacCAS Scholarship Recipients

After reviewing many robust scholarship applications, our selection committee chose two winners, Kaylie Dalton from Chatham University and Emily Roberts from Rocky Vista. Kaylie and Emily will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. Their profiles are below.

KAYLIE DALTON

Kaylie earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Mary Washington, graduating in 2016 with a major in biological sciences and a minor in neuroscience.  She is currently completing the Master of Science in Biology program at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA and is expected to graduate this month. Prior to starting her post-bac program at Chatham in January 2020 Kaylie volunteered as an emergency medical technician and worked in healthcare administration. Upon graduation, she is due to begin work as a neurodiagnostic technologist in January 2021.

Kaylie’s goal is to become a physician assistant specializing in the field of neurology, and she brings a wealth of patient-care experience with her as a former medical scribe and emergency medical technician.  She will be applying to Physician Assistant programs in April 2021.

EMILY ROBERTS

A native of Colorado, Emily graduated from Grinnell College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. It was her work as a phlebotomist at Delta County Memorial Hospital that made her fall in love with clinical medicine and contributed to her decision to pursue a career as a physician. Emily completed pre-medical coursework at Colorado Mesa University, then went on to work in healthcare research and administration at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Emily is currently earning a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Rocky Vista University. She hopes to matriculate into the Rocky Vista University Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program beginning in Fall 2021. She is passionate about rural healthcare and aims to incorporate her knowledge of rural medicine and research to improve access and quality of care in more remote locations.

PostbacCAS 2019-2020 Annual Report

The PostbacCAS annual report for the 2019-2020 cycle is undergoing final preparations and we expect to release it in mid-January. If you have been part of the CAS for several cycles, you’re familiar with our annual report. The first annual report was released earlier this year and included data on the 2018-2019 cycle. New to the 2019-2020 annual report is the inclusion of matriculated student data.

Thank you for all your efforts and cooperation in entering final decisions in WebAdMIT to ensure that data is included in our reporting. And if you haven’t entered your final decisions yet, it is not too late to do it now! You can find instructions on entering final decisions here.

New WebAdMIT Releases

Current Date Merge Field in Email Templates

Adding a date stamp is a key component when sending important communication. Understanding the need to add the current date in applicant emails, we added a button in WebAdMIT’s Email Templates that inserts the current date. The clock button, located in the editor toolbar, adds the current date merge field. The date displayed to the applicant is the date the email template is sent. When the applicant receives the email, the date is formatted as MMM d, yyyy (e.g., Jul 9, 2020).

Copy Function for Email Templates

Create Email Templates faster in WebAdMIT using the new copy feature. Clicking the button replicates the selected Email Template. This allows you to more quickly build and customize your applicant communication by simply editing the Email Template rather than building it from scratch.
