In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting Liaison employees who identify as women whose contributions have been integral to our success.

Ann Donnelly joined Liaison 16 years ago as an account coordinator. Today she serves as the company’s Director of Account Management and Client Success.

What drew you to the technology industry?

Ann Donnelly (AD): It wasn’t necessarily the technology industry as much as it was staying involved with higher ed. Before working at Liaison, I was a collegiate women’s basketball coach and love working with students in any capacity.

What’s one of the greatest challenges you’ve faced as a person who identifies as a woman in the workplace?

AD: I have never personally felt that identifying as a woman has ever held me back from being successful. I consider myself very lucky to be able to say that.

What is the most impactful professional lesson you’ve learned since you began your career?

AD: Listening can be much more effective than talking.

Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?

AD: Still doing what I love.

When you’re faced with a tough professional challenge, who/what/where do you look for guidance?

AD: I have a few mentors within Liaison whose opinions I value more than any others. That said, it’s not hard to find guidance within a company where people have to rely on each other to be successful. When you can face challenges with your team with as much enthusiasm as you celebrate your wins, it makes it easy to find solutions.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

AD: You’re going to come across people who will say all the right words at all the right times. Trust in your instincts, listen to your heart and remember that it’s actions, not words, that matter the most.

What has been your biggest career and/or personal achievement?

AD: On more than one occasion I have been called upon to help a struggling service thrive again. I have been very successful in these endeavors and take a lot of pride in seeing our clients flourish once again.

What are you most proud of?

AD: I am most proud of being part of the Liaison family for 15 years… and counting. I love that I am part of the history and have been witness to such an amazing company growing as much as it has. I have built lasting relationships with some incredible people and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
