Highlights from Higher Ed: Career Colleges and Postsecondary Credentials

That’s how much the number of career colleges and the number of credentials they award have dropped in the last four years as for-profit colleges continue to struggle. According to an annual report from the National Center for Education Statistics, 2,791 for-profit colleges were eligible to award federal financial aid for this school year, a number which has dropped significantly from 3,436 in 2014.

That’s how many cities Facebook will be visiting across the United States to help small businesses and job seekers with their digital skills. Facebook will provide its curriculum to community colleges and educational providers, and in some cases will award scholarships for students to attend the program.
