That’s how much the number of career colleges and the number of credentials they award have dropped in the last four years as for-profit colleges continue to struggle. According to an annual report from the National Center for Education Statistics, 2,791 for-profit colleges were eligible to award federal financial aid for this school year, a number which has dropped significantly from 3,436 in 2014.
