Jun 7, 2021

WATERTOWN, MA (June 7, 2021) — Liaison, the leading provider of higher education admissions and enrollment marketing solutions, is excited to announce that New York Times best-selling author Wes Moore will be the keynote speaker at the 2021 Virtual Liaison User Conference this July.

In addition to penning his best-selling first book, The Other Wes Moore, Moore has written three other best sellers, including The Work, Discovering Wes Moore and Five Days. More than just a writer, Moore has also served as CEO of Robin Hood, a New York City-based poverty-fighting organization, as a captain with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division during a combat deployment to Afghanistan and on the Board of Directors of Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community college student success. Moore also served as a White House Fellow to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and just recently announced his campaign for Maryland governor.

“Access to education changed my life dramatically,” Moore said. “I know from personal experience that it can also change the lives of millions of others who, unfortunately, lack the resources and opportunities to continue their studies. That knowledge has driven me to remove barriers to access and student success. I’m excited to speak to at the 2021 Virtual Liaison User Conference because I know I’ll be speaking to people who are equally committed to opening these doors for others.”

Moore, who was raised by a single mother in Baltimore and the Bronx, is a Phi Beta Kappa Society graduate of Johns Hopkins University who went on to receive an MLitt in International Relations from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.

In his address — called Stronger Together: The Community Approach to Student Success — Moore will speak about the transformative and life-saving power of education from a personal perspective, sharing his unique experiences and accumulated insights to make the argument that we must unite as a community in order to promote diversity, equity and inclusivity.
