You will find some of the recent and upcoming changes to the CAS™ listed below:

New User Experience for Entering Colleges Attended

After many months of market research understanding the application experience of previous applicants, we have revamped the Colleges Attended section of the application. Applicants will see a new interface when they complete that section. This updated application section is now available for applicants using BusinessCAS™, EngineeringCAS™, and GradCAS™.

Based on the feedback we received, we’ve created a process that is much more intuitive, providing applicants clear, step-by-step guidance on what they are expected to do.

Guest Access on Letters by Liaison™

Recommenders can now submit their evaluations as a guest, without creating a Letters by Liaison™ account. Guest users can create an account at any time while working in Letters by Liaison™, and recommenders who already have an account can also complete a recommendation as a guest.

Organizations can make Org-Level Question Blocks Editable

After SubmissionCAS™ users now have the option to allow applicants to edit their answers to specific organization-level questions after they have submitted their application. This is a good feature to utilize if you ask questions related to residency status at the organization-level, since applicants may experience a change in their status after application submission. We recommend thoughtful consideration and a discussion with your Account Manager before turning on this feature for a question block. Response changes will impact your exports if you have integrations to other software platforms set up. Click below for details on how to use the feature.

Submitted Applicants can now edit Colleges, Transcripts Entry

This feature, which is now available within BusinessCAS™, EngineeringCAS™, and GradCAS™, allows applicants to add any relevant postsecondary attendance information that was omitted prior to submission. It does not allow applicants to make changes to colleges already entered and transcripts already uploaded. This feature should be utilized to guide students if they forget to include transfer credit awarding institutions in the Colleges Attended section.

CAS™ Application Cycle Deadlines & 2020-21 Configuration Portal

As you are already aware, the 2018-2019 cycle (for applications to the Summer 2019, Fall 2019, Winter 2020 and Spring 2020 terms) was due to close on January 31, 2020. It has now been extended to close on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Please review the WebAdMIT™ Quick Tips section in the newsletter to follow best practices to close out an application cycle within WebAdMIT™.

The Configuration Portal for the 2020-21 application cycle is also due to open on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. This means that all your approved designations from the 2019-2020 application cycle have been copied over to the prelaunch environment for the 2020-21 cycle and are now in draft to begin making any changes you would like to for the forthcoming cycle. Please note that the 2020-2021 application (for the Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 terms) opens on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
