Your participation matters! Please take our new 2-question, anonymous survey about how the pandemic has affected test requirements at your institution.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our current and past surveys. Our CASs are continually working to disseminate information to benefit the higher education profession. We will continue to do so the best we can and appreciate your help answering these hot topic questions.

New CAS Releases

We continue to make improvements to our platforms to enhance your experience with the software. Some of the most recent updates are below.

Preview Draft Programs in Prelaunch Environment

Once you’re done configuring your home page, branding, and additional sections in the Configuration Portal, you can preview how your program page will appear to applicants in the application. There are two methods to preview your programs:

  1. In the Application Prelaunch Environment
Recently released in March, this method lets you use the application prelaunch environment to preview your program. Using the program settings, you’ll turn on Preview your programs in a testing environment. Your program must be in Draft status to preview this way.

  2. In the Configuration Portal

In this method, you can preview your program directly in the Configuration Portal. Use the eye icon to preview your program in program settings.

For step-by-step directions to preview your programs using these methods, visit the Help Center.

Improved WebAdMIT Password Experience

WebAdMIT had a notoriously tricky password requirement making it hard to determine what part of the password didn’t meet the criteria. To simplify this process, the password formula has been updated and is displayed when updating your password. Passwords must:

  • Be at least 8 characters (previously, the requirement was 10 characters)

  • Include at least 1 uppercase letter (new)

  • Include at least 1 lowercase letter (new)

  • Include at least 1 number or 1 special character

  • Not be a common keyboard pattern (e.g., qwerty) or a common word (e.g., names)

TOEFL MyBest Scores

Liaison now receives TOEFL MyBest scores directly from ETS. MyBest scores—sometimes generically referred to as superscores—are the combination of an applicant’s best scores for each test section from all of their valid TOEFL scores in the last 2 years. There are no changes to the applicant’s process for self-reporting test scores in the CAS application or ordering official test scores.

  • WebAdMIT Users: you can view scores in the Standardized Tests panel of the Applicant Details page. Additionally, you can view scores in the Full Application PDF under the Documents panel of the Applicant Details page. All TOEFL iBT score reports sent after August 1, 2019, will include the applicant’s MyBest scores as well as the individual scores from each test date.

  • Admissions by Liaison users: MyBest scores should be available later this year.

  • API Updates: If you use one of our APIs to export this data to your local systems and would like to include this data as part of your exports, please inform your IT department of these changes.

    • If you are using the WebAdMIT API, update your exports and complete your mapping for the new MyBest score fields. These fields should be available via Export Manager.

    • If you use the CAS API, the MyBest score fields will be available in your payload later this year.

    • If you use the Admissions by Liaison API, the MyBest score fields will be available later this year. Once available, you will need to update your exports and complete your mapping for the new fields.
